We visited Brown’s Bay Marina today, we booked a three-hour tour on the Coastal Taxi for Saturday. The three-hour tour reminded me of Gilligan’s Island, I hope this one does not turn out that way. We explored the awesome marina before having dinner at the Narrows Floating Restaurant. We saw a couple of seals playing in the water, I got a couple of pictures to add, nothing special, you can at least tell they are seals. We enjoyed our meal and the incredible view. The completely newly refurbished floating restaurant was purchased in 1987 as a remnant of the legacy of Expo 86, it was originally built to be a floating McDonalds, now it bobs gently on the docks right at the Marina. We ate inside this time, we will take advantage of the tables with awesome views outside if we return.
Today “The Narrows Floating Restaurant” is inaugurating a local and regional reputation for it’s “all you can eat fresh crab” specials. The idea is to make an evening of it; you clutch sharp implements and crushing crab pliers, seat yourself down beside a dippy bowl and a ton of napkins, don the quintessential bib and dive in, right up to your elbows, See photos of Jerry with the tools ready to crack the crabs. There is no time limit or limit on the crabs, one lady ordered nine crabs, she was about 100 pounds, I don’t know how she could eat nine of them. They were delicious, right out of the water fresh, Dungeness Crabs, you can’t ask for much more than that. We had a great time and hope you enjoy the pictures. Check back later for more about our three hour boat tour on Saturday.
