On Saturday evening, the whole community of Englewood held a potluck dinner and a country western music program. They invited our boondockers group to join them. There was so much food, we could have had 3 times as many people there to eat! After dinner, we were entertained by a group of local musicians, singing some of those "good ole" songs and playing musical instruments. It was a great relaxing evening.
One RV in our group pulled out early Sunday am headed home to Florida for the winter. We began packing up and pulled out for home about noon. It was a great week and we truly enjoyed ourselves. We felt totally welcome from the minute we pulled in. Everyone was friendly and interested in our life and they were very free and supportive of our questions etc. about boondocking. I have to say some of this group are real veterans having been on the road 11 years, 8 years, 4 years, and down to us at 1 year. Very knowledgeable and fun people, willing to share anything and all they had. When it was time to leave, we felt we had 12 new friends and we have made plans to meet again on the road.
After leaving the Rendezvous, we met up with Topfuel and Jo at the Walmart in Dodge City. They followed us on home to our farm and are visiting here a few days. We arrived home just in time. It began to sprinkle on us and then rained pretty good all night and is still raining and cloudy out. The roads are pretty well soaked and we will need some sun to dry them out before we can head out again.
Just doing some "catch-up" things this week and then we head to Albuqurque and Grand Canyon on Monday.
