Bryce Canyon National Park
Mar 19, 2013
|I love it when a plan comes together!
We were up, showered, and dressed in time for breakfast at 7:00 this morning.
It was 8:00 when we headed north toward Bryce Canyon National Park, and we arrived at the entrance right at 9:00.
We stopped at the Visitor’s Center and roamed around for awhile, then began our drive through this beautiful National Park.
We had noticed what appeared to be snow showers in the distance, as we drove toward the Park and sure enough, the snow began as we began our self guided tour.
We decided to drive all the way to the end of the road, at the south end of the Park, and then hope for better weather as we returned.
Our pictures show what things looked like as the snow picked up and came down hard enough to cause a car following us to turn around and head back.
In spite of the snow, we were determined not to let the weather interfere with our good time, and we stopped at numerous overlooks to take pictures.
By 12:00 noon, the snow had stopped and the sun tried to break through the clouds in the overcast sky.
After that, the pictures became much better and I’ll post plenty of them so you may see some of the scenery from this wonderful place.
We saw wide ranges of temperatures and types of weather today. From a low of 28 degrees, to a high of 60. The weather went from warm, overcast, to high overcast and cold, to snow with low visibility, and back to sunny skies, before again becoming overcast.
Marilyn took more than 250 pictures today and I will have a difficult time trying to choose the ones to share with you folks.
We did return to our Motel room in time to grab a bite to eat and relax for awhile.
We have decided to head back toward home in Gold Canyon tomorrow.
I’m going to let Marilyn drive much of the way to Flagstaff.
Now to get busy on those pictures.
