The Pinnacles

Mmmmm... bug guts

View of downtown Perth

Hmmm... which way to the hostel?

Aussie family outing

Canadian Kangaroo???

Hey, he's taking our stuff!!!!

Get him, Nigel !!

We got up again at the crack of dawn to see the sunrise at the Pinnacles (a natural formation of rock spires/pinnacles in the middle of the desert). However, it was pouring rain so we got to sleep in!! YAY!!!

When we did finally surface, the sun was out and the pinnacles were a neat sight. For miles and miles, you can see various sizes of rock pinnacles sticking out of the sand. It made for some really neat photos.

Back in downtown Perth, we had some fun with a few 'locals' before heading down to a seaside town called Freemantle for dinner. Freemantle is a really laid back place with many sidewalk cafes, quiant little shops, and a large market. We had dinner at the market and shared our table with a really interesting couple who were from the area. The guy owned a cattle station and we heard some interesting anecdotes and shared travel stories. He recalled the days when he backpacked Europe at $5 a day. Wow, that's a long time ago!!!
