No Turkey Tonight: Stacie And I Feast On Crab In Ushuaia ThisThanksgiving...

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2006. USHUAIA, ARGENTINA. I have returned from the most amazing journey to the seventh continent: Antarctica. This is truly the last continent and a place of extremes: Weather and beauty. My only reservation prior to embarking on this voyage was the four day return sail through the Drake Passage. It definitely was a challenge--I got seasick early in the first full day, but managed to get my sea legs by that evening.

I have posted photos; However, I have not had an opportunity to draft a daily summary and explanation. The summaries should be up by tomorrow and will provide a more thorough explantion than the photo captions. If you can wait, check back tomorrow for the complete picture. In either case, I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them.

Finally, a Happy Thanksgiving to family and friends in the United States!

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2006. USHUAIA, ARGENTINA. I have just completed a most fabulous journey to Antarctica. For those interested in an expedition (not cruise) to Antarctica, I highly recommend GAP Adventure's M/S Explorer ten day Antarctica Classic tour. I cannot say enough good things about the Captain, crew, and expedition staff of Explorer, the "Little Red Ship", for providing a truly professional, exceptional, amazing, and unforgetable journey to the last continent.

To get the full story of this expedition, I recommend viewing the November 13th post onward.
