We have come through the canal and are in the Red Sea. It was spectacular. Huge sand dunes on one side and small towns, crops, homes on the other. It was nothing like the parts we have seen of Egypt in the past.
The weather is in the mid 80’s and it feels like home. D has watched the boat traffic all day. Huge container ships to small fishing boats. We saw schools of small dolphins, the water is teal blue and so clean.
Tomorrow we will be in Aqaba, Jordan. Our shore trip is the Wadi Rum national park. Petra is another choice which I would have loved but you must be able to walk about 6 miles. It literally dates back to prehistoric times.
In the dining room our table mates are Sharon and Bill from South Carolina, on cruise #43. Both are gospel singers, non drinkers, ran a jewelry store, at one time a carpet store. She has absolutely no filter and will ask about anything, we get along fine which should explain the information about our other table mates.
Darin and Dean are brothers from Vancouver Canada. They promised their mom before she died they would take a trip together. So here they are. Dean married a stripper 15 years his senior and had twin girls when he was 19. They are no longer together. His brother Darin has been engaged twice but never married. Maybe because Dean married 2 more times but is currently single. They are complete opposites about almost everything. Tomorrow Dean is going scuba diving and Darin asked to tag along with Sharon and Bill.
