Alberta - where the deer and the buffalo roam!

The end of the rainbow is not a pot of gold, it's...

Wednesday & Thursday, the 12th and 13th of July

Had a beautiful drive into Edmonton, which is huge! Got to our campground on the west side of town (Glowing Embers RV Park) - nice park, quite large, but the free Wifi signal was too weak to be useful. I got in touch with friend Jenny Radsma, who was on her way to pick up a Fed Ex package for us that Patsy had sent (mail forwarding assistant, P. Mendes). Jenny came for a visit (and to bring our mail) the next morning, and we had a great visit - I loved hearing all the good stuff about Jenny's post-doc, and the latest Qualitative Research talk. After Jenny left, Richard and I hit the West Edmonton Mall - the largest Mall in the world. Amazing! Ice hockey rinks, waterparks, roller coasters, and, of course, stores :) We bought some film for my old SLR camera, some post-cards, and a couple of books. After the Mall, we headed out to Spruce Grove for some major food shopping. A quick, late afternoon rainstorm produced a couple of spectacular rainbows. Being in the city again reminded us of why we like the rural areas best.
