This morning I spent quite a bit of time on the computer at the Senior Center, trying to get caught up on my trip journal updates and reading my e-mails. It had been a week since I’d done that. I still didn’t have time to do everything I had intended to do.
This afternoon I read a very enjoyable little book by James Finn Garner: “Politically Correct Holiday Stories.” It includes revisions of such tales as ‘Frosty the Persun of Snow’, ‘A Christmas Carol’ (with Bob Cratchit, the person with whom he has a primary relationship and their son, Diminutive Timón, sitting around their flocked arboreal companion), ‘The Night Before Christmas’ (about the merry, overweight patriarchal oppressor) and ‘Rudolph the Nasally Empowered Reindeer’. A number of years ago I had read Garner’s “Politically Correct Bedtime Stories” and was equally amused by it.
