|What is it they say about if you don't like the weather just wait 5 minutes??? LOL Well, it's sure been a roller coaster ride here for the past few days. Rain, thunder & lightning & then sun for an hour & then here comes the second wave. It's keeping the surrounding mountain/hills very pretty & green & Mom's lawn as well! We ran a few errands today, leaving in the middle of a storm but all too soon I was quite warm in the shirt I had on & I shed my coat quickly. I now have a t-shirt & flip flops on, lol :)
I thought I should post an update on Mom's health for family & friends in other places. She & I both had appointments with Dr Miller on Friday. Mom had blood work & a CAT scan done on Thursday & the results were pretty much what we'd suspected over the preceding weekend. She has a kidney stone. You might recall from the last entry that we were trying to cover all the bases which included a strained muscle in her back, kidney problem, herniated disc etc etc. The scan showed an impacted colon, a kidney stone & the beginning of scoliosis, although that is very slight & not bothering her as yet. She has very high uric acid so of course is on a new med for that, as well as plenty of cranberry juice, water & other fluids. She's also on a light pain med, Ibuprofen & Dulcolax. We are slowly making progress!!! Next doctor's appointment is Thursday morning.
I had my annual blood work done & will be wearing an oxygen 'cuff' overnight tomorrow to record my overnight oxygen levels. Haven't slept well for years so perhaps this test will be of help. I'm a real night owl & staying up half the night isn't helping. Larry is a snorer so they will be testing him too. We both feel just fine right now & feel very blessed that we are doing as well as we are. Dr Miller says I look 10 years younger than I am! Ha, don't I wish. I think I like her, LOL!!!
We head back to Vegas Friday, without our home, for a few days. Staying with Bonnie & Larry. We have a few appointments to take care of before we take off for the summer. I have to renew my drivers license. Have you guys heard about the new ID card? It goes into effect in 2020 but I'm going to go ahead & get it now. If you don't have a gold star on your license you won't be able to board a plane or enter a Federal building of any kind!!! Yep, that's the new law, beginning 2020. We had to license our truck & home while here & we got new insurance on both. Ah, the times they are a'changing! New rules for our insurance this year too.
Well, that's it for now. I'll be digging through our storage bins over the next couple of days, trading out our bedding, clothing, shoes, purses, jackets etc. Have to keep up with the changing seasons. We're looking forward to doing a bit of boating soon & to seeing a few new sights this year. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
