What I have is my dinner - what you can see is...

The common, but exceedingly beautiful lilac-breasted roller

A couple of old timers wander nearby

Gosh they're quiet during the day - we didn't realise we were...

A warn-off just beacuse he can!

Sunset over Katuma plain - beautiful

There's a leopard 20 metres away but he's so well hidden in...

Back to camp for a cold beer around the campfire, nice and...

Lunch at the lodge and a restful afternoon before a late drive with Nick to get some “animals in sunset” shots. We saw two vehicles that were watching our now 'hungry again' leopard so we spent considerable time watching him in the hope he would start a stalk as there were plenty of prey around. No luck and difficult to get a decent photo because of late afternoon lighting and his considerable ability to take cover. A stunning African sunset was more than worthwhile being out after dark - something we don't usually do in these parts, but felt quite safe in the twilight perched on the benchseat of the trusty safari vehicle with Meresu, Kevin our driver and also Nick sitting behind us. Back to the camp for a quick beer by the fire before another wonderful dinner.
