Summer 2012 Travels travel blog

We were up and on the road by 8:30. The only problem we had was the rough roads made out little inverter fault and we would lose power to the computer and WiFi hot spot. As my computer would go blank (the battery is not very good in this so we keep it plugged in all the time) we would have to find a spot to pull off and reset the inverter and restart the computer – then all was well.

We wanted to get gas in Iowa as we knew it would be more in Illinois. We found a station and pulled in – only to find that it was going to be a little tight pulling out. I had to ask two cars to move so we could pull out again but we got filled up. Don' t know why they make stations with only one way in and out. I'm not sure how the tanker truck would get in and out to fill their tanks.

The trip over the Mississippi was good – gotta love those bridges with 3 lanes so we can drive in the middle one. We took 34 across southeast Iowas and part of IL and then headed south to Bushnell and our campground.

Business must not be as good as before as they have planted some of the tenting areas to corn. This is the first time we have parked on the second row and in the trees. Usually we park on the west edge of the trees and have a view of the lake. Now we have a view of campers – but that is ok. We are parked, we are cool and all is good.

We are a day early so DD#1 (Oldest dear daughter) and her family had plans for today. So we will just veg out and meet them for church in the morning.

I probably won't post tomorrow – but will Friday when we travel again. Until then – that is the way our lives have been going. Hope you and yours are well and happy. ENJOY!!

PS: The puppies are 3 yellow males, 3 yellow females and 2 black females. All are strong and healthy.
