Happy 4th of July to all. Today we travelled from Flotonia to New Orleans. We spent part of the day at Camping World looking at parts and new trailers. They had free hot dogs and burgers because it was the fourth of July. After looking at new RVs and their price tags, we love our MH even more. Camping World was a bust as they had nothing on our list. We did unhook the Jeep and leave the coach at CW as I could not imagine driving the RV in the French Quarter.
So after that diversion, we decided to head to Bourbon Street and take in New Orleans.
But first, of course, we needed to go see New Orleans Arena where the Hornets play and the then the Superdome. The dome brought back memories of Katrina, although we could see no real remainders of the hurricane in NO, there was a lot of new construction. Supposedly on the outer areas, like the Ninth Ward, the devastation is still apparent. So as for my impressions of New Orleans, it was cleaner than I expected at the arena, and I have no desire to go back to the French Quarter. Even during the day, it is crazy and there area lot of really interesting and some scary looking things going on.
We got fuel here for the car - $3.23 a gallon. Thought we had hit the lottery! So back to the rv and onward toward Memphis.
