Travel to Washington DC. Left Gettysburg at 1400 and arrived in Washington DC at 1700. The GPS sent us to a residential neighborhood. I think it is to disrupt any intruders. We are staying at the camping area at Andrews AFB. This is where Air Force One is housed.
We do not seem to have wireless internet here so, we will have to send updates at a later time.

Washington DC. We took our first Metro ride this morning. Finding a parking place was difficult; fortunately we were able to stalk a person leaving and take his parking spot. I like this system better than Philadelphia’s. Lindsey said she like Philadelphia better, in fact she has began to make plans on attending Penn State with her VBFF.
We visited the Castle and part of the Museum of Natural History. We have to go back to the Natural History Museum in order to see the stones (Hope Diamond…). We watched the movie” Battle of the Smithsonian” at the Smithsonian IMAX how cool is that?
Supper consisted of Steak, Salad, and Baked Potatoes. Yum, Yum. They have a very large Commissary at Andrews, much better than what was available at Elizabeth City (Coast Guard base). We had Rock Road ice cream available for desert ; no one had room for it though.

Washington DC. We have a couple of Congressional passes from Senator Pryor to see the US Senate and the US Supreme Court buildings. JD and Lindsey meet some Old Guy at Senator Pryors’ office. We took our tours (if you come here make plans a couple of months in advance to get tour tickets, you get to cut in line).
Lunch was eaten below the Union Station. The buildings are gorgeous; the pictures do no justice to the art. We finished our day touring the Library of Congress. With a readers card you can read all you want but you do not get to take the books home.
