Attack #17-Misty Morro Bay
27 May - This was the last attack of the third consecutive, and last, duel attack day of the invasion. Morro Bay is a fishing village located on the Pacific Ocean about half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles near Hearst Castle and the Big Sur Coast. Our march took us down the streets of town, along fishing piers, and across the causeway to it's most famous landmark, Morro Rock, which towers 576 feet (right? Wayne and Grace) above the entrance to Morro Bay. Morro is Spanish for crown shaped hill and the rock is sometimes referred to as the Gibralter of the Pacific.

After the successful attack we made our way to nearby Don and Marillyn’s encampment for a delightful cookout. Where we stuffed ourselves with grilled-by-Dan Costco Dogs and various other nutritional goodies (not!). We also celebrated Larry’s B-day with 2 chocolate cakes, as he became our newest Social Security recipient. Happy Birthday! Big Daddy.

Betty, Charlie, and I retreated back to our encampment around 2000. It was a very long, but most satisfying day.

Mission Status for day 12 of 16: Completed 16th and 17th of 21 scheduled attacks for a total of 149.5 miles on the ground and 784 convoy miles.
