Caught the train this morning at 9:00. Tried to change my money at the "change counter" but they told me they don't change cash - what the? Just after leaving Zagreb the immigration guys came through to stamp us out of Croatia. Then just over the border we stopped at a station and the Slovenian iimmigration came through, did't take too long and we were on our our. Much of the train journey was beside a fast flowing river, would love to paddle my kayak along here.
Arrived in Ljubljana right on time at 11:20. First we booked the overnight train to Zurich for next Thursday night, they had a special on, so we got it a lot cheaper than we expected - yoohoo! Then we picked up a map and some info from the tourist info counter and then I went to the change counter and changed some money, they even took my Bosnian money. I think I am stuck with the little bit of Albanian money I have - no one wants it.
Then it was a five minute walk to the hostel we are staying at. It is very close to the centre of town and after settling in we went for a walk. Our big find was a supermarket that sold a good variety of food, the best we have seen for quite a while - fresh fruit and veg, meat, chicken - we were like kids in a lolly shop. Bought some food to cook dinner back at the hostel.
