Medora and the girls
Aisha's stories:
Everyone has a story, but sometimes we never get around to sharing them. Ever wanted to go up to some one and just ask, "what's your story?" Well I never thought about that question until we met Medora.
Medora is 70-something and an artist. She has a wonderful home filled top to bottom in art. Medora told us her story: she worked at an airport, she flew planes and did the stunts on them too. She married a guy who was very, very mean to her. When she left him he wanted to hurt her, but the men at the airport would not allow it. They protected her from getting hurt. But one day when Medora was in her office, she heard a noise and looked outside. Her husband was going to crash his plane into her office and was going to kill her, but at the last moment he changed his mind and soared over the building instead.
Medora is a Unitarian Universalist and we got to visit her church. It is held in a small art studio above an art gallery. We went to church with her, had a wonderful lunch with her, and got to go grocery shopping. We were then off to go visit our aunt in Sacramento.
I had a really great time with Medora. I remember that we watched British comedy shows with her and we laughed together. We had a great time. Medora is even writing a book, a memoir about herself. I can't wait to read it.
