Sunset at Akaroa to sign off from NZ

Hi again

Yes we went to the Observatory.....fantastic. Very cold up on mountain top at night -didn't return back to van till 1 o'clock.

Next day moved onto to Akaroa just an hour from Christchurch. Went along highway 72,the scenic route. Scenery just surperb, snowcapped mountains in the background.Drove through the Rakaia Gorge with it tourquoise coloured river -quite spectacular, especially as the sun was was shining and white fluffy clouds made the trip quite special.

In Akaroa our (Top 10) camp site is high up over looking the village and harbour.Really good, again as the waether has been good today.

Visited an artists garden in Akaroa today - The Giants House - owner Jose Martin is really into mosaic work all around her beautiful garden - a few photos are attached. She will be on NZ TV next year apparently.

Tomorrow will do last minute sight seeing before returning to Christchurch and hopefully onto Fiji - military coups allowing!!!
