|When we left Colbert it was foggy and cool. We took Hwy 69/75 south to Hwy 82 west to I-35 south to I-35W to I-20 west to Hwy 281 south. This routing made it possible to miss Ft Worth and go around the metro area. Traffic was heavy and I am still not very relaxed driving the truck with the 5th wheel hooked on the back. One of the problems which popped up was that the latch on the sliding drawer holding the propane tanks is not working, so the drawer will not latch in the locked position. I secured it with bungee cords and went on the way. As we entered I-35, I glanced in the mirror and saw the propane tank door open. That got my attention! I quickly pulled over and discovered that the door latch was loose. Maybe as a result of the washboard road. I grabbed a handy screwdriver and made a quick repair. All good! :) We had planned to stop at Lampasas, TX but could not find an RV park we liked, so we drove on. Good decision! We like to stop around 2:30 PM each travel day and it was 3:00 PM when we found the River View RV park in Marble Falls, TX. What a jewel!! Very nice park, along the river. Quiet and peaceful. They also allowed you to wash your RV for an extra charge of $4.00. Wow! Our RV was so filthy dirty from all of the sloppy snow and ice residue. I grabbed my RV washing brush and went to work. In about one hour we had a pretty clean, nice looking RV again. Once again we made friends with the couple next door. Have I mentioned that these RVers are some of the nicest, friendliest people on earth? Shelby and Jerri were so nice and they invited us to breakfast at the Blue Bell Cafe before we leave in the morning. Just after it got dark in the evening, Marilyn was standing at the open door of our RV when I heard her gasp out loud and proclaim "Oh my goodness, Ed, look at this!" Across the river was a fantastic light display, stretching for a quarter mile or so, and all reflected on the still water. It was Awesome!! We walked down to the shoreline where we met some other nice people who were from Minn. Another great day!
