Today Inge, Dianne and I attended the Midday Music Series at the Blanton Museum of Art. Imagine my surprise to see Mikail Davenport there, accompanied by his friend, Shara.
The program was wonderful. The University of Texas Harp Ensemble performed a delightful variety of music. Most surprising was the final number, “Mack the Knife”. Who would ever think of playing that one on harps?! The featured work of art today was “Buffalo on the Platte River” by Worthington Whittredge, 1866, oil on board. I was surprised to see that it is only about 19x28 inches.
We had lunch at the Blanton Café.
By the time we started home, the temperature had dropped quite a bit from earlier this morning due to another cold front. Widespread rain is on the way. We certainly need that!
