Wanderings and Side Trips travel blog

Today, we finally drove out of Texas. What a huge state! We experienced the mid day rush in El Paso, or maybe the traffic is that bad all the time. We drove on through Las Cruces and arrived in Deming, New Mexico. We stayed at the Escapees RV park - Dreamcatchers. Another gravel lot with full hookups, but again the price is right. For Escapee members, it is only 10.00, plus you get Escapee hugs at these parks. Great people, nice park, etc. We will stay here again if we are in the area. It was an early day for us, which was good, because after we checked in, a steady stream of RV's started to arrive. I believe they were full by about 7pm. There were some people parked in the overflow, dry camping area.

We didn't have far to go on Friday - only 130 miles. The Richmonds would not be home from work until about 3pm, so we just had a lazy morning and left about 11:00. The night was COLD and we were glad for electric, so we could run the furnace. As we headed west, it rained and was cloudy most of the way.

We arrived in Willcox, AZ about 3pm and got set up by the time Joyce got home. Camp Richmond is one of the best stops on our trips out west. Jim and Joyce are great hosts and we have a fun time with them. It's like being at home for a few days. We stay in our fifth wheel in their driveway and enjoy their hospitality.
