Garner State Park – Sage (Kneeling)

Garner State Park – Meadow in Park

Garner State Park – Prickly Pear Bloom

Garner State Park – Small Patch of Flowers

This afternoon Sage Kawecki led our field trip to Garner State Park, where we looked for plants along the Frio River. We also visited the native plant demonstration garden at the Visitor Center and walked around the historic pavilion. The pavilion was built during the great depression by the Civilian Conservation Corps and is still used for dances and other activities.

Sage is the Executive Director of the Texas Hill Country River Region, Director of Nature Quest and President of the River Region Chapter of the Native Plant Society. She is very knowledgeable about native plants.
