We left San Luis Lakes State Park and drove to our next destination, Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado Springs. We drove through beautiful mountains and went through a pass with a 6% downhill grade for 4 miles. The campground at Cheyenne Mountain is located right next to the mountain. We had a great view of the city of Colorado Springs when we looked away from the mountain.

After we got everything set up at the campground we drove to the Garden of the Gods. The free park is maintained by the City of Colorado Springs and has paved trails through the unusual rock formations. There are other unpaved trails for exploring some of the other areas of the park. It is also a popular place to ride your bicycle.
