This is a stopover on my way to warmth. Thanks to my friend, Linda, I am staying at this campground for free! She gave me 4 passes to RPI Preferred parks and I thought that would get me into parks for $15 a night, a bargain. But when I handed in the pass, there was no charge! I have 3 more passes and I can stay up to a week at a campground using each pass until I get to Miami! Wow - thanks, Linda!
I didn't do much here this weekend, but I did find a letterbox near a waterfall at the end of a dirt road that might have been a driveway to someone's log cabin at one point. When I got there, a car was already there with 3 Indian "boys" who were "enjoying the day" after a night of drinking. I just stated that I was here to see the falls and take a short walk. They were gone when I got back from my walk about a half hour later. They were friendly enough, but I was a little uncomfortable being by myself (one of the few times ever).
I had a great Sunday brunch for $12 that lasted me all day, and spent about an hour at the local casino where I spent their $5 gift certificate, then $15 of my own playing video poker.
