No scenic photos today. Just lots of driving - 481 miles altogether, burdened with some substantial rain in the Salt Lake City area. It has rained every day for the last two weeks in this normally rather arid area. If we have planned properly this should be the only day of Hartmut's visit that is spent totally on the road. And if it had to rain a lot, this was a day where it didn't matter too much. The landscape has changed from the vivid reds and oranges of Bryce Canyon to the huge green fields of potatoes that Idaho is famous for. Hartmut made nasty comments about how much faster this trip would have been in Germany where there are no speed limits on the autobahn. Point taken, but he's not driving around in his house!
