Port Orford, OR...we love the rocky Oregon coast.

View of the Coquille River Lighthouse from Bandon Harbor

Today was our last day working at the Coquille River Lighthouse. Tomorrow we head south about 85 miles to Brookings. We've had a great time here at Bullards Beach State Park and definitely plan a return stay. And, like many of our previous hosting sites, we made a lot of new friends while here and have already planned future visits with some of them.

Although we didn't play as much golf as we had planned, we did play one 9-hole round with our friends, Robin & George Minder, when they visited with us for a few days on their return trip from Alaska. Hopefully we will get in another round or two in Brookings. We will be spending October and November as volunteers at the Oregon State Visitors Center just north of the California border. We won't have much contact with the public there since our job will mainly consist of opening/closing gates, raising/lowering the flag, and performing evening maintenance duties. We have been there before and know what to expect so, although some volunteers find that assignment boring, we are looking forward to some down time before heading into Sacramento for the holidays.

I've attached a few more photos taken during our stay here in Bandon, OR. The beauty of the Oregon coast is hard to beat.
