We left Krabi on Monday morning and headed to Phuket which was a 3 hour drive away. We got onto a dodgy local taxi which was half the price of Sheraton's taxi. As approaching to Phuket, our taxi driver asked us "we are soon going through a police check point, you need to tell them that we are friends"??!! It means that he doesn't have a proper taxi lisence. Oh well we got there safe with half price and he was a nice guy.

Well In Phuket we stayed in a little bungalow at Kata Beach, located 15 mins drive away from Patong the main beach area in Phuket. We arrived in the afternoon so we just walked around the streets of Kata and went down to the beach to have a swim and that night we again enjoyed a nice cheap Thai dinner in a local restaurant. The beach is so big and relaxing.

Next day we hired a scooter it only cost $8 a day! Hiro drove and I sat behind him clinging on tight as I dont like motorbikes, altough it could only go 50km an hour I was still afraid going around the windy roads of Phuket. We rode up to Patong and had a look and were quiet happy we chose not to stay there as it is very busy with people and shops. Having a scooter ride on the island was actually so much fun and a great way to look around the island. It was a beautiful day, nice and sunny so we went back to Kata and spent the rest of the afternoon on the beach relaxing and swimming. We stayed on the beach to watch the sunset as we are on the west coast we watched it set over the beach which is something I haven't seen before.

Hiro also had a $1.50 hair cut on the street as he was getting sick of his long hair. Now he looked like a thai man!!

The next morning we rode the scooter up the street to get a good coffee (hard to find) at Andaman coffee company then we had to drop back the scooter as today we leave for Ko Samui.
