After a week at commercial campgrounds, we settled back into a Florida State Park, Mayakka River. We were in the Big Flats Campground within walking distance to a launch ramp and (unusual for a State Park), a concession with canoe rentals, air boat rides, and a food service.

Like most State Parks, the camp sites were spacious and set apart with lush vegetation. We noticed another Chinook and made friends with the owners. After resting up for a day from the ordeal at the commercial campgrounds, we decided to kayak the second day which turned out to have a 50% chance of rain, so we held off and took long bike rides instead.

It was a really relaxing time.
