We went snorkeling today in one of the most beautiful places we have ever snorkeled. Hanauma Bay was declared an official protected Marine Life Conservation Area in 1967, this stunning natural wonder is a must see.

With its diverse population of marine life, as well as a large and rich coral reef, Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is considered one of the absolute best areas for snorkeling in all of Hawaii. There is also an award-winning, state-of-the-art Marine Education Center located at the bay where you can learn interesting facts about this amazing site.

Hanauma Bay is a captivating, crescent-shaped inlet, filled with beautiful tropical fish and Hawaiian sea turtles, it is one of Oahu’s most famous and popular places to visit.

I wish I had taken my camera, but we spent most of our time in the water. We swam and snorkeled for over 4 hours and still hated to leave this beautiful paradise. I am adding a few pictures taken from the Marine Life site. I wish I had purchased a underwater camera to show pictures of the amazing fish we saw. It was incredible!

If you are ever in Hawaii, do not miss this bay.
