We are in Barcelona, Spain

Last one!

We left the ship today and are in Barcelona, Spain. We checked into our hotel and then decided to walk to Las Ramblas to see the famous Boqueria Market. This bustling promenade in Barcelona is 1.6 Miles of cafes, performers, shops and galleries, from the Placa de Catalunya to the Mediterranean shore. The market is awesome, except for all the ducks and chickens being sold with their heads still on them. Yikes!

We visited the gothic area, featuring a great exhibition of Picasso’s work and key moments during his time spent in Barcelona. After the museum we had awesome paella for lunch. No trip to Barcelona would be complete without a taste of Spain’s most famous dish: paella. We had the seafood paella with a combination of yellow rice, fish, shrimp, chicken, mussels and vegetables. It is a favorite among locals as well as tourists, after tasting this incredible dish, we could see why. Due to its location right on the Mediterranean coast, Barcelona has access to a wide selection of fresh seafood, making the paella dishes here even more authentic and flavorful.

We had a wonderful day. We will be packing up for our flight back to Miami tomorrow. This has been one of the best cruises we have been on. The repositioning cruises give you a lot of time on the ship while crossing the Atlantic, we loved our time on the ship as well as the ports of call. We will definitely look for repositioning cruises from now on.

The cost is also much cheaper, this cruise only cost us $1200 each, that is for everything except the excursions. What a deal! Our next update will be when we arrive back in Miami. Check back later for more from Florida.
