This morning I was slower than usual leaving home. It was about 11:30 when I finally got my act together. I decided to feed Daisy before leaving town even though I probably had enough gasoline for the round trip. On the way, I stopped at the Dairy Queen in Elgin for lunch.
We had our potluck dinner tonight. It so happened that our visitor, Bill Smith, was the only one present who had a birthday in February so he got to blow out the candle and hear our..., er..., off-key rendition of 'Happy Birthday'. He joined our chapter, so I guess our singing didn't scare him off. :>)
Today it was cold, cloudy and windy all day, so we stayed indoors most of the time. Tonight we went to the nearby community of Lincoln for dinner at the Elm Creek Restaurant. The food and service both were good.
At our business meeting this afternoon Val White, in her capacity as the national organization’s Vice President of the South Central Region, brought us up to date on club matters and distributed some door prizes. I won a blue tee shirt. Val visits chapters in all the states in our region, so she is a busy gal. She is a long-time member of our Central Texas chapter.
Today the weather was much nicer than yesterday so we were comfortable going outdoors and walking around the RV park.
