Today I was back in Austin before lunch. The time at the Cen-Tex LoW campout seemed to fly!
My packet of mail had some surprises -- some good, some bad. I received a partial refund from Eye Physicians of Austin. I guess that they had overcharged me for my co-payment.
One letter particularly angered me. I had filed a request with the Texas Department of Insurance for help in resolving my problem with Medicare and CMI-Lloyds Insurance. Medicare had not sent CMI-Lloyds the confirmation letter which I had requested; so CMI-Lloyds sent payment to the Texas Department of Insurance instead of to me because their original check (made out to me and to Medicare and dated 03/23/06) had never been cashed! It hadn’t been cashed because Medicare had delayed so long that it was long out of date. Now I have to try to collect the funds from the State of Texas. I’m so frustrated with this situation I could scream.
In the packet was also a summons for jury duty in Polk County next week. I’ll have to call them to get an exemption since I’m in Austin, Travis County.
