Today was a gorgeous sunny day for our tour of Chicago. We are camping about 60 miles from the city so we took a train. The cost was only $11.00 each for round trip tickets and it took us about 1 hour and 15 minutes each way. We arrived around 9:45 and walked a couple of blocks over to the Sears Tower where we could get tickets for a city tour.
It was the Chicago Trolley tour with 13 stops all over the city. It started at Sears Tower then to Millennium Park, then to Wacker & Michigan Avenue, next the Theater District, on to the Art Institute, Hilton Towers, on to the Field Museum, Sheraton Hotel and the Navy Pier. Next the Magnificent Mile, the Hancock Center to the Water Tower where Oprah once lived and on to River North to shopping along the river. We had a superb day and enjoyed it much. The trolley was great because we could get off anywhere we wanted and get back on anytime.
We spent a lot of time at the Navy Pier and also took the special Sears Tower tour where you ride up to the 103 rd floor and get a fantastic view of the city. We found the city to be one of the cleanest and friendliest we have visited. I had to take a lot of the pictures from the trolley and they are not as good looking through windows but I managed to get some good ones. We really needed a lot more time to explore this great city, but are happy we had our day. We hope you enjoy viewing our tour.
