|Our sister-in-law, Judy, drove us to the airport and we were soon on our way back home to St Louis.
As soon as we arrived in St Louis and walked to the baggage claim, we saw the smiling faces of friends, Bob & Janet, who drove down to pick us up.
Only minutes later we were on our way to Hannibal, visiting about our trip to Africa, and our upcoming trip to the Rio Grande Valley for the winter.
The time went fast and we arrived at our RV, unloaded our baggage, and realized how happy we were to finally be back home.
We unloaded our bags, re-connected the water supply, and turned the furnace up to take the chill off. That was when we discovered that our propane supply was empty.
I had a spare bottle about half filled, so I installed that one and the furnace worked just fine.
We wanted to thank Bob & Janet for the ride home so we met them at “Ole Planter’s” for a prime rib dinner. We sat with a fine meal and the good company of friends, continuing our conversation about the trip to Texas.
By the time our meal was over, I was fading fast and looking forward to a good night of sleep. However, we needed some groceries and wanted to see Jennifer before going back to our rolling chalet.
Walmart provided the groceries and then we drove to the hospital to see our daughter.
Jennifer saw us walking down the hall toward her. Her face lit up and we were soon sharing big hugs and kisses.
We remained in the lobby until Jennifer was off work and visited a bit longer before parting company.
Back at our RV we unloaded the groceries and turned the TV on.
We then sat together relaxing, as we watched the LSU/Alabama football game.
Late in the third quarter of that game, I found my eyelids slamming shut too often to enjoy the game, and headed off to bed.
Oh my! To be back in our own bed with our own pillows, was such a pleasure!
That was the last thing I remember about yesterday because I fell asleep about three seconds after getting in bed.
Life is Good!
