Bowling Alley

This morning at church the Spanish-speaking congregation joined the English-speaking congregation. They led the service, including the music. Love that Latin beat!

This afternoon I went with Bob and Virginia Staats and Milton and Inge Rider to a Weihnachtskonzert (Christmas concert) at the Saengerrunde Halle. It was sponsored by the Austin Saengerrunde Damenchor (women's choir). The Männerchor (men's choir) also performed as did the Handglockenchor (handbell choir) from St. Louis Catholic Church. At the end all three groups combined in a Gemischter Chor (mixed choir). It was a good program. It made me wish that I remembered more German words!

After the musical program, they served cookies and punch, all of which were delicious.

Bob gave me a tour of the facilities. They have nice rehearsal rooms and bowling lanes. Bob has been bowling there every week since he and Virginia moved to Austin in the early 70s.

It rained nearly all night last night. During the day there were some heavy showers and a heavy mist the rest of the time. The temperature was only in the low 50s.
