|Ciudad del Este is VERY different from Puerto Iguazu (or anywhere else we've been!). It's frenetic, and very very busy - there are stalls lining both sides of the three parrallel streets leading away from the border crossing, and lots of other people selling just about anything you can imagine - and especially anything electronic! Tara found it fascinating, Da thought it was terrible! We battled our way through, and made it to the Itaipu dam. It was the biggest in the world until China built the three gorges one. They showed us round (by bus!) for free, and Da found it fascinating - Tara thought it was terrible! We struggled a bit to find a place to stay because the biological refuge with a campsite we'd been planning to go to was inaccessible because of a sudden thunderstorm(!), but we got a lift back into town with one of the workers from the dam and he was very kind and helped us to find a cheap hotel (we initially thought he was taking us to his grandmother, so arriving at 'mi abuela'(my grandmother) hotel was a bit of a relief!).
