We drove about 15 miles today and visited the cool Abraham Lincoln Statue, it is a giant. This statue, which features the former president's bust atop a 30-foot granite base, was built to honor his 150th birthday. It was originally placed on the highest point of the Lincoln Highway, before it was moved to its current location when I-80 was completed, according to RoadsideAmerica.com.
Interstate 80W, the United States' second-longest highway, runs the length of southern Wyoming, passing by Laramie and Cheyenne between long stretches of open road and natural scenery. If you are in the area don’t miss this one, there are several historical destinations and monuments along or just off the road, including old prisons and forts. It was another great day in Wyoming, check back later for more.
