A "party" fishing boat headed to the Gulf

A trip to Port Aransas for the gals and fishing for the guys was on the schedule for today. Wes and Gary left with the boat to try their luck fishing for Big Reds. I had an appointment for a long overdue haircut. JoElla and I left about 11:00 to go to the Port because we thought it would be crowded and we might have a wait at the ferry. It was not crowded and we got right on the ferry with no wait. Since we had a couple of hours, we headed out to the jetty to see what was happening. It was beginning to get crowded. Lots of vehicles and RVs parked on the beach. A lot of fishermen on the jetties and a lot of boats out also. I don't know if this is the usual weekend crowd or because Spring Break is beginning. We have never been here in March, only in November and December. We took photos and watched a Pelican fishing, inspected several people's catches and had a Whataburger for lunch. Then it was time for my haircut. Most of you women RVr's will understand my anxiety. I am used to having my beautician at home cut my hair. She knows what and how to do it just right. I usually have it cut about every 4 - 6 weeks to keep it "just right". I had it cut right after Thanksgiving and have not been able to bring myself to go to a stranger since then!! Well, it was beyond time for it to be done. I approached women in stores etc. when I thought they had a good haircut to find out where they went. Finally a couple of women here in the park recommended the same place and their hair looked good, so I called and made an appointment. I must say she did a great job - a little shorter than I would normally get, but a good cut. So, if you are in the Aransas Pass - Port Aransas area and need a haircut, call Jean at Shear Haven in Port A.

We kept in touch with the guys throughout the day and they were not catching any fish. They spent the whole day out in the boat and didn't catch anything.

Oh well, as they say, a bad day fishing is better than a good day working anytime! They will try again tomorrow.
