|"Even the longest of journeys begins with but a single step". We have all heard that said before and it is certainly true in our case.
Marilyn & I were up, dressed and sipping coffee by 5:30 this morning.
Once the coffee was finished off we got busy, cleaning up the kitchen and bedroom.
I made the bed and carried the luggage down the steps, placing them near the steps.
I took the trash to the dumpster, then dumped the holding tanks and rinsed the black tank.
I rolled up the water hoses after disconnecting the water at the spigot, and placed the coiled hoses in the bed of the truck.
Before calling it quits, I placed rodent control pellets inside the compartments of the RV where mice might get in.
With our major tasks complete, we drove into town, filled the van with fuel, and stopped at the Mark Twain Dinette for a tasty breakfast of ham, eggs, hash browns, and an English muffin.
We weren’t back at the RV very long before Steve & Jen drove up.
I had loaded the suitcases into the van by that time, and we headed toward St Louis.
We visited with the kids all the way and stopped to buy them lunch at the Olive Garden.
Shortly after noon we were safely and snugly at home in our motel room.
The kids had errands to run so they took off after hugs and hand shakes.
A nap sounded good to me and I inspected the back side of my eyelids for awhile.
We watched the Cardinals in the third playoff game on TV, with a snack and a glass of wine.
Tomorrow we will be on our way to New York to meet up with our friends, Tony & Jackie and Howard & Linda.
The hugs, conversation and laughter will be welcome and the excitement of our journey will take control of all that is said.
We can hardly wait!
Remember dear readers that we will not be posting this blog on any regular basis until we return, but once we get home, you will have the blogs of each of the three couples, to read. They should be filled with differing perspectives and tons of pictures.
I’m hoping that Howard can help me to improve this journal with some tips on links, etc.
Hope you all have a great day.
