'Triptych' c. 1360s, Simone di Filippo da Bologna, tempera on gold ground...

Today Inge Rider, Dianne Bennett, Virginia Staats and I attended a Bach cantata at the Blanton Museum of Art. We enjoyed “Sie Lob und Her dem höchsten Gut, BWV 117” (Praise and honor be to the highest Good). There were three visiting vocal soloists, all of whom were very good.

The featured piece of art this time was “Triptych” by Simone di Filippo da Bologna, a.k.a. Simone del Crocifissi, c. 1360s, tempera on gold ground panel. It is one of the oldest pieces of art at the Blanton. It is one of my favorite pieces in the Suida-Manning collection.

As usual, we had lunch at the Blanton Café.
