View of mountains at Texas-New Mexico border

Today's leg of my journey was the longest yet -- 313 miles from Pecos, Texas to Deming, New Mexico. It is a major accomplishment to keep from being hypnotized by the l--o--n--g, straight highway with very little change in scenery. For this reason, I stopped more often than I usually do. I arrived at the LoW-Hi Ranch RV Park just in time for their cookout. Val, one of my friends in the Central Texas chapter of Loners on Wheels, had brought enough chicken for me to grill. Everything was delicious. After dinner six of us played "Thirty-One" for a little while.
