This morning we awoke to a beautiful (but discouraging) sight. Lots of big heavy snow. Big flakes and the wind is blowing. The cedar trees are already drooping from the weight. Wes has shoveled the walk a couple of times and it is covered again. It is not too cold - about 38 degrees, but our bodies have gotten used to the warmer weather, so we feel cold. Our dog, Sophie, is glad we are home, so she can come inside where it's warm.
We have spent the day unloading the fifth wheel with things we need back in the house for a couple of months. We defrosted the freezer yesterday, so today we put all our fresh caught fish in it, along with some fresh shrimp. I have been doing laundry and getting the house cleaned up for some visitors we will have on Sunday. Wes is doing the "tax" thing - getting all our paperwork ready for the book keeper, so he can prepare our taxes.
We will leave tomorrow morning for a church conference in Garden City. We are excited to meet with some close friends we haven't seen for a while. They will come home with us after the meeting on Sunday and spend the night before they head on back to Denver on Monday. Anyway, I hope the roads will be passable to the highway. Sure glad we have four wheel drive!!
I'm soooo glad we made it home for this snow storm. Wouldn't have missed it for anything.
PS: It was so beautiful on Saturday morning after the storm, I had to add some photos. Enjoy!
