This has been a pretty full day of activities around CARE. This morning we had our golf cart parade, with a couple of scooters and even a tricycle mixed in. Since I don’t have a golf cart, I rode on the float at the end of the parade with Uncle Sam, Lady Liberty and Betsy Ross, along with several other participants. Our parade route included the residential neighborhood streets as well as the Escapees Rainbow’s End RV Park.
The weather was perfect (after an evening of thunder and showers), so there were quite a few spectators along the route -- unlike the rainy day last year. Many of the spectators took photos and gave us the thumbs up.
After the parade we gathered in the dining room to cool off and to have some trivia questions and a sing-along with the karaoke machine. Then it was soon time for our traditional lunch of super hotdogs and all the trimmings.
It has been a good day.
