Oh dear oh dear, what has happened to our time? Our latest holiday is sadly and rapidly approaching its end and we must depart Barcelona tomorrow afternoon. Our flight is due to depart at 3.30 pm Thursday. We are then scheduled to arrive back in Perth around 5.35 pm Friday afternoon. There is a taxi strike taking place in Barcelona on Thursday but that should not be a problem for us as we have a private car taking us to the airport. Of course, that is what the strike is about, Uber and private cars taking business away from taxis.

Sitges was a great place to visit and we really enjoyed our time there. Lots of good shopping (not that we purchased anything), great food and lots of fun little bars. Of course, it is a seaside town and the beach is what it's all about so everyone dresses for the beach regardless of if they are at the beach, in a restaurant or in a bar.

On Tuesday we got the train back to Barcelona and checked in to our hotel, an old palace (built around 1710) in the Gothic quarter and recently renovated in to a small 31 room hotel. After a wander around the nearby area we had a drink in the square opposite our hotel where we used to have a drink the last time we were here, in 2012. During that visit and our nightly drink in the square we watched the renovation of the building that has become the hotel where we now stay.

Dinner on Tuesday was tapas and paella in a little restaurant down the lane from our hotel before we took a walk down to the Placa Reial, a large square lined with many restaurants and bars. Today we spent further time exploring and re-familiarising ourselves with Barcelona as well as some time checking out the Museum of Contemporary Art. Not sure what we're up to this evening but perhaps a drink in one of the bars in the square behind our hotel before dinner somewhere.

Well, this looks like this will be the final update from us for this holiday.

Take care, Graeme and Ron
