Tonight I went with Val White to the Bannockburn Baptist Church in Dripping Springs to their women’s annual “Heavenly Holidays” dinner. Her neighbor, Patti Renaldo, also attended and was our driver. Val’s daughter, Cindy Million, met us there; she had come straight from work.
Cindy had decorated our table with her beautiful wedding china and Christmas items. She had also decorated another table with Thanksgiving items. A group of men from the church served as our waiters and did a bang-up job. They were husbands of some of the women in attendance; Cindy’s husband, Ron, was one of the waiters. Our after-dinner speaker was Jennifer Berry on the topic, “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”
The hostesses had placed pieces of paper under one plate on each of the 13 tables, entitling that person to select a door prize. I was the lucky winner at our table. The package I chose had a pair of silver-colored cross-shaped earrings and a matching necklace with a magnet on the back.
