Here and There With Daisy 2015 travel blog

Today I had Thanksgiving lunch with the Mothers’ Day Out group at my church, Acorns to Oaks. “Acorns” are 3- and 4-year-old children. Members of the JOY (Just Older Youth) were special guests. The Acorns are divided into Zebras and Kangaroos according to their ages. I sat at the table with some Zebras. There were about 250 people, so the decibel level was pretty high! All those acorns were quite active and vocal. They entertained us with three songs.

Mothers’ Day Out is held twice a week for five hours. All the children are taught in both English and Spanish and are fed lunch. The program is considered a community outreach.
