Today was a day at the shops...

The morning started off with a subway ride to the Shanghai Bazaar - a condensed shopping area with hundreds of shops, including two Starbucks and a McDonalds. Not much bargaining could be carried out at the stores, but they was a wide range of products. After a bit Alice and I left the bazaar and went to the side streets where we bargained our way up and down the street. Lots of stuff at pretty good prices - much better than at the bazaar.

We went back to the meeting spot and sampled some teas - I bought some black tea with lechee fruit - quite nice.

Back to the hotel to rest then the eight musketeers went by ourselves to the subway to Nanking Road - a kilometer long pedestrian shopping mall. Mostly like the malls in the US but with Chinese themed merchandise. Interesting but way too much. Lots of folk offering knockoffs of pretty much every designer product as well.

We finally escaped that area and made for the subway - but were caught by a huge mall under People's Square. Hundreds of shops. We left the two women to shop until they dropped and headed back to the hotel.

A final trip up some back streets to a local grocery store to get some snacks for the flight, then back to pack. About 9:30 we said our final goodbyes and finished packing. Now we're trying to wind down to get ready for our flights tomorrow - it will be a long day.
