We left Harriet's around 10AM on Saturday and headed south on I-95. Traffic was OK, but there was the usual construction as the roads always seem to need. Anne's Christmas present GPS worked wonderfully! It still needs the software upgrade (which can only be done on an "IBM PC") so we'll have Greg help us with that chore.
It was raining all the way and we got in around 3 in the afternoon. It was wonderful to see our son and we were ga-ga over the sweeping transformation he had accomplished in his backyard pool area.
That night Greg, Chuck, Anne, and Tom had dinner at Ferdos Greek restaurant. A belly dancer appeared as promised at 8 and came right over to our table (all the cute people were there!) and got Greg and then Anne to join in. Anne threw off her sweater with great enthusiasm and really got into the dancing!
The rain dissipated the next day (Sunday), but it was really cold. It was a good day to just "hang out" and relax. Tom and Greg went to Publix (the local grocery store) and stocked up on dinner food and cookies. We had grilled steaks with baked beans and macaroni shell salad. We did our belated Christmas presents. Anne got the 8th season of CSI on DVD (she is addicted to this show), Tom two Ranger Apprentice books, and Greg got a "The World Is My Oyster" book and wine mats and soap from England. Chuck got a pair of designer jeans from Anne & Tom.
Monday was bright and more Florida-like. Tom & Anne took a walk around Wilton Manors (the town where Greg & Chuck live) and visited Chuck at his furniture store where he practices interior design. Tom roasted a chicken with acorn squash and stuffing for dinner. Tom had a nap on the outside couch near the pool (with a good fuzzy blanket). In other words, a vacation at a great "resort!"
