Cheers - Cheese and Wine Party Oz Style

The Nobbies !

Just more random beautiful scenery

After the excitement of seeing the penguins last night we took our time starting off today (well it is the weekend and we do deserve a lie in !).

Remember that Phillip Island has place names the same as the isle of Wight? (Ventnor, Cowes etc) - well for the The Needles in the UK read "The Nobbies" Oz - right at the tip of Phillip Island a crop of rocks protruding from the sea with waves crashing in from all around - but here they also have a seal colony. A great place to look out and consider the world !.

We had other stops along the coast on Phillip Island, before setting out on the road to Bairnsdale.

OK folks at this point we are conscious that you must be getting bored with descriptions of rolling hills, craggy coastlines, mountains in the distance and wide open fields filled with cows and sheep all lit by the rays of a warm summer sun and a raod punctuated by the odd sign for open "cellar door" sales at vineyards. Anyway - that does describe our drive today (around 300km) and we have fallen in love again (Victoria now along with South Australia).

Anyway, we are now at Bairnsdale and as you can see from the atached photo this is how we often "put together" our evening meal 9after a visit to the local supermarket) when we are on the road - simple, enjoyable and a great opportunity for us to mull over the experiences of the day!
