David Rawson & Glenn Wehrmann

Judy Rawson and Paula

This morning I went into Denison to get some groceries because I didn’t have anything to contribute to the cookout this afternoon with some of my Texoma friends. I had supposed that there would be a big crowd at the store, but it wasn’t quite so bad as I had anticipated. Another friend had gone Friday afternoon and said it was horrible!

We had a wonderful meal of ribs, brisket, corn on the cob, green beans and new potatoes, black-eyed peas, slaw, potato salad, macaroni salad, deviled eggs, chocolate cake and ice cream.

All the campgrounds are full and running over. Several Corps campgrounds are still closed due to high water, which has made the crowding worse. Some tent campers set up their tents on places that aren’t really campsites. I guess they don’t mind not having a water hydrant or picnic table. So far, everyone near me has been behaving.

We had a rather dramatic sunset because of the clouds. We had only a few sprinkles in the early afternoon. We’ve had more than enough rain for a while!
