This morning I was told that I will be discharged tomorrow from the rehab hospital. It will be good to be back in my own little nest. This three-week period is the longest hospital stay I've ever had.
Dr. Gamboa came in to give me a final checkup. He said that the incision still looks good and that there is no sign of any problems. He will prescribe some pain medication for me to use at home.
They have arranged for home health for me; so I will be able to stay in my RV. The nurse will be available to help me shower if I should need help. I think I'll be fine, though.
Tonight at my church's community group meeting, they called me and sang the birthday song for me. They wanted an update on my back surgery, too. I really miss them and hope to be able to attend by the end of May, when I'll be allowed to start driving again. They are one of God's greatest gifts to me.
